The PGML 5.0 League matches played at the Panjim Gymkhana ground on Saturday provided cricket fans with a mix of thrilling and one-sided contests. In the morning fixture, Priority Titans edged past Manas Mavericks by three wickets in a closely fought encounter, while in the afternoon match, Sherwin Shaw Falcons cruised to a comfortable seven-wicket win over RC Goa.

In the first match, Manas Mavericks, opting to bat first, posted a competitive total of 154 for six in their allotted 20 overs. Avishkar Mone played an aggressive knock of 44 runs, while Vijay Nagarajan contributed 34 and Pranav Biche remained unbeaten on 19 to bolster the innings. For Priority Titans, the bowling attack was led by Kiran Shirwaikar, who took 2 wickets, and whose disciplined spells kept the scoring rate under control.

In reply, Priority Titans had a shaky start but steadied the chase through a composed innings by Heramb Shankar Parab, who top-scored with 54 runs, and some handy contributions from Kiran Shirwaikar (23), Atharva (22) and Akshay Badami (21). Titans reached target in 18.4 overs, finishing at 155 for seven. Om Fadte bowled his quota of 4 overs, conceding just 28 runs and taking 4 wickets. Heramb Shankar Parab was adjudged the Player of the Match for his match-winning performance.

In the second match, RC Goa's batting struggled to gain momentum. Apart from Aryan Mashelkar (38) and Paras Naik (34), there was little resistance from the rest of the lineup. RC Goa scored just 125 runs losing 9 wickets. Sherwin Shaw Falcons bowlers dominated the proceedings, with Sazu Naik claiming three wickets, while Tunish Sawkar and Naresh Parsekar picked up two wickets each.

Chasing a modest total, the Falcons’ batsmen made light work of the target. Prajyot Rivonker scored 40, Gourav Desai added 37, and Tunish Sawkar remained unbeaten on 31 as Sherwin Shaw Falcons wrapped up the chase in just 11.1 overs. Tunish Sawkar was named Player of the Match.
