PANAJI: Seiko Club stormed into the semifinals of the 4th Chandrakant Karapurkar trophy tournament after defeating CC Altinho in a high-octane contest.
Winning the toss, Seiko Club elected to field, putting CC Altinho, Mhapsa into bat. Altinho posted a competitive total of 167/7 in their allotted 20 overs, with Nagesh Rege top-scoring with 64 and Venkatesh Verlekar contributing 34. Yogesh Kauthankar starred with the ball, claiming an impressive 5 wickets for 28 runs.
Chasing the target, Seiko Club reached 168/4 in just 18.2 overs. Prathamesh Salunke led the charge with 53 runs, while Prathamesh Gawas remained unbeaten on 59, guiding his side home with authority.
Yogesh Kauthankar’s all-round brilliance earned him the Man of the Match award.
