The eagerly anticipated football ground development project of Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club, Vagator, finally began with the ground-breaking ceremony held on Sunday.
The ceremony was attended by chief guest Shivshankar Mayekar (Proprietor of Shivani Developers) and special invitees including Suraj Chodankar (Headmaster of Vasant Vidyalay, Siolim), Fr Glen D'Silva (Manager, Sacred Heart of Jesus High School, Anjuna), Dinesh Patil (Panch Member), Seby D'Souza (Attorney, Comunidade of Anjuna), and Fr Marcelino De Souza (Parish Priest of St Anthony's Church, Vagator), along with other guests.
Fr Marcelino De Souza blessed the construction machinery, after which Mayekar and Chodankar performed a symbolic act of breaking a coconut. Addressing the gathering, chief guest Mayekar spoke about the benefits of developing the ground for sportspeople, children, youth, and others.
