Vihaan Tari and Krutika Aggarwal emerged victorious in the Mangirish Youth Club All Goa U-9 State Chess Selection tournament, clinching the Open and Girls categories respectively. The event, organized by the Ponda Taluka Chess Association under the auspices of the Goa Chess Association, took place at Wagle High School, Mangeshi.
In the Open category, Rishit Gawas secured second place, with Evan Antonio Telles finishing third. Prayank Gaonkar, Shrinay Naik, Shresth Ghonsekar, Aarav Nagueshkar, Aryan Naik, Snithik Sinari, and Aarav Prabhudessai claimed the 4th to 10th positions.
In the Girls category, Shanvi Redkar and Shinel Rodrigues secured second and third places respectively. Avani Sawaikar, Vania Dukle, Tvisha Dessai, Sidonia Dacunha, Shreesha Ghadi, Survi Keloskar, and Drisha Ghonge secured the 4th to 10th positions.
Consolation prizes were awarded to Aarav Naik, Joash Cardozo, Viyomi Parab, Aaradhya Dessai, Tansh Gaude, Siaan Kerkar, Amaira Borkar, and Prarthana Maujekar.
The prizes were distributed by Damodar Naik, President of Mangirish Youth Club, in the presence of Mahesh Candolkar, President of Goa Chess Association, Ashesh Keni, Secretary of Goa Chess Association, Sagar Sakordekar, President of Ponda Taluka Chess Association, Amogh Namshiker, Secretary of Ponda Taluka Chess Association, Kunal Mangeshkar, Sports Secretary of Mangirish Youth Club, Chief Arbiter Arvind Mhamal, and Ratnakar Pai, Treasurer of Mangirish Youth Club.
