VPS Mandrem College registered an 8-wicket win over SS Dempo College, Cujira-Bambolim, and Goa Medical College defeating Goa College of Engineering, Farmagudi by 8 runs on Day 15 of the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Men’s Cricket Championship 2025-26.
In the first match, SS Dempo College won the toss and opted to bat, posting 163/8 in 20 overs. Ishan Singh top-scored with 47 off 25 balls, while Shivank Desai added 35 off 30. For VPS Mandrem College, Siddharth Karpe was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2 for 16, while Pranay Sopte chipped in with 1 for 21.
In reply, VPS Mandrem College chased down the target comfortably, scoring 164/2 in just 16.4 overs. Atharv Chandure starred with a century, smashing 100 off 49 balls, while Siddharth Karpe contributed 45 off 33 deliveries. Sarvadnya Desai and Aryan Mashelkar picked up a wicket each for SS Dempo College. Chandure was named Player of the Match for his match-winning knock.
In the second match, Goa College of Engineering won the toss and elected to bowl first. Goa Medical College posted 145/6 in their allotted 20 overs, with Jarvis Faleiro scoring 49 off 37 balls and Arsh Sardesai adding a quick 37 off 22. Narayan Sawant impressed with the ball, claiming 4 for 15, while Tushar Ghatwal took 1 for 16.
Chasing 146, Goa College of Engineering managed 137/9 in 20 overs, falling short by 8 runs. Smit Dalvi scored 48 off 39 balls, while Shreyash Usgaonkar contributed 32 off 19. Arsh Sardesai and Jitendra picked up two wickets each to seal the win for Goa Medical College. Sardesai was adjudged Player of the Match for his all-round performance.
