The 8th National Modern Pentathlon Laser Run Championship, held in Amravati, Maharashtra from April 27 to 29, saw a stellar performance by Goan athletes. The event was organised by the Modern Pentathlon Federation of India.
Babu Gaonkar secured the Gold medal with a timing of 12.12 minutes, defeating Asian Games Qualifier Mayank Chafekar of Maharashtra in the Senior Category.
In the U-19 Boys, Uddesh Majik clinched the Gold medal, clocking a time of 12.38 minutes while Yash Shankar Naik bagged the Bronze medal with a timing of 11.28 minutes in the U-17 Boys category.
Nigel Mark Raposo secured a Gold medal at the Global City Laser Run Tour 2024 event held on the same day. In the U-17 girls category, Vaishnavi Suresh Waddar won the Bronze medal with a timing of 13.39 minutes.
Impressively, all the medal winners from Goa have qualified for the upcoming World Laser Run Championship to be held in China this June.
Global City Laser Run Tour 2024
Goan athletes continued their winning streak at the Global City Laser Run Tour 2024 event held on April 29th.
