In a thrilling run of events at the Priority Gaspar Dias Open All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament, Anshuman Agarwal is set to clash with Aaron Farias in the Men’s finals.
Organized by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias under the aegis of the Goa Table Tennis Association, the tournament delivered a day of exhilarating competition in both the Men’s and Veterans categories.
Anshuman Agarwal secured his spot in the finals by defeating Chandan Caro 4-1 (11-5, 11-3, 11-4, 10-12, 11-7) in a commanding performance. Meanwhile, Aaron Farias emerged victorious against Arvind Kumar in a gripping seven-game battle, winning 4-3 (6-11, 11-6, 8-11, 9-11, 11-8, 14-12, 11-9).
Earlier in the quarterfinals, Anshuman displayed his prowess by overcoming Nagesh Verenker 4-0. Chandan Caro edged out Rishan Shaikh in a closely fought 4-3 match, Aaron Farias outplayed Diljit Velingkar 4-2, and Arvind Kumar defeated Khushal Naik 4-1.
The Veterans categories also witnessed intense action. In the 40+ semifinals, Shawn Soares triumphed over Bonny D’Costa 3-2, and Clyde Barreto bested Parag Kamat 3-1. The 50+ semifinals saw Satish Agrahar beat Niraj Kannure 3-1, while Yusuf Shaikh narrowly won against Deepak Gopani 3-2. In the 60+ semifinals, Arun Naik edged out Joseph Sequeira 3-2, and Prakash Alfonso defeated Eknath Mahadeshwar 3-2.
