A three-day residential football camp was recently organized by the AT Foundation, Kolhapur, for children from selected villages across three talukas in Kolhapur district. The camp was part of the ongoing Village Football Development Project, launched eight months ago to promote football at the grassroots level.
The AT Foundation had earlier distributed football training equipment and initiated coaching sessions in villages under the guidance of Anju Turmbekar. From this initiative, three children were selected to participate in the residential camp held at the ATF Gijwane High School Center. During the camp, the children received not only football training but also guidance in discipline, personal habits, respectful behavior, proper nutrition, time management, and the importance of balancing sports with education.
The camp was led by Anju Turmbekar—an international football trainer, AFC panel member, and AT Foundation volunteer—who made time for the program during a break from her overseas commitments. She was supported by sports teacher Anil Patil, and a dedicated team of ATF village leaders including Akshay Pawle, Shailesh Dalvi, Sanika Redekar, Vaibhavi Patil, Shruti Divatankar, Kasturi Kadam, and Kaushik Ikke.
