Bhatti Sports Club secured their place in the final of the Silver Jubilee Cup 2025 Interward Football Tournament after edging past hosts SC Virabhat 4-2 via a tiebreaker on Wednesday at the St. Alex Church ground, Curtorim. The tournament is being organized by Sporting Club Virabhat.
The match remained goalless at full time, with both sides missing key chances during regulation play. SC Virabhat came close to scoring early when Floydon Fernandes’ powerful shot struck the crossbar in the 10th minute. Bhatti SC responded with attacking moves of their own, but the Virabhat defense held firm.
In the second half, Bhatti nearly broke the deadlock when Ralf Dias’ strike hit the post and rebounded into play, only for Virabhat goalkeeper Johnson Bogot to punch the ball out of danger.
With neither team able to find the net in regulation time, the game went into a penalty shootout. Bhatti SC converted four of their spot-kicks through Macroy, Tony, Ralf, and Aaron. For SC Virabhat, only Lourdes and Floydon managed to score.
Bhatti Sports Club will now face Agxem Sports Club in the final, scheduled for Sunday, June 22.
Perry Dias, the goalkeeper of Bhatti Sports Club, was awarded the Man of the Match. The award was presented by Mowin Noronha, a member of SC Virabhat.
