MARGAO: Betalbatim SC booked their place in the semi-finals of the 25th Benaulim Panchayat Cup after defeating Guardian Angel SC 5-4 in a tense tie-breaker at the St John the Baptist Panchayat Ground, Benaulim. The tournament is being organised by Dando Boys Club, Benaulim.
With neither team able to find the decisive goal, the match was eventually settled through a penalty shootout. Betalbatim SC displayed composure from the spot, while Milton D’Souza made a vital save to help his team secure a 5-4 victory and advance to the semi-finals.
For his outstanding performance, Milton D’Souza was named Man of the Match. He received the award from Mrs Resica Fernandes, Panchayat Member of V.P. Cana, Benaulim.
