Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has assured his full support and cooperation towards the establishment of the proposed Goa Olympic Bhavan, a landmark project aimed at uniting the state’s sports fraternity under one roof.

In a meeting held with a delegation from the Goa Olympic Association (GOA) on Friday, Dr. Sawant commended the initiative and expressed the Government’s commitment to fast-tracking the process in the larger interest of athletes and the promotion of a vibrant sporting culture in the state. The Chief Minister stated that the government will extend all necessary assistance to make the Olympic Bhavan a reality, reinforcing Goa’s position as a growing sports hub.

The delegation was led by GOA Secretary General Gurudatta Bhakta, accompanied by Treasurer Jayesh Naik, President of the Taekwondo Association of Goa Navin Pai Raikar, President of the Kho-Kho Association Sunil K. Naik, President of the Goa Badminton Association Manoj Patil, and GOA Member Sidharth Satardekar.

During the meeting, Gurudatta Bhakta briefed the Chief Minister on the vision and significance of the Olympic Bhavan, explaining how it would serve as a central facility for the Goa Olympic Association and all State Sports Associations—housing administrative offices, training spaces, and shared facilities for collaboration and development. Jayesh Naik expressed his gratitude to Dr. Sawant for his positive assurance and continued encouragement towards sports advancement in Goa, marking the discussion as a key milestone in the state’s sporting journey.
