Dada Vaidya School, Kurti clinched the title at the inter-school football tournament organised by Kamakshi Higher Secondary School, Kurti-Ponda, defeating St Mary’s School 3-2 in the final via tie-breaker.
The tournament, held at the Government Sports Complex, Ponda, featured eight participating school teams. The event was conducted under the leadership of Luis Vaz, physical education teacher at Kamakshi HSS.
The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Pandurang Naik, Assistant Sports Officer, as chief guest. Vinayak Sada Naik, chairman of the institution, presided over the function. Other dignitaries present included Taluka Sports Organiser Shailesh Gaonkar, former principals Francis Fernandes and Parmeshwar Bhatt, and Principal Surekha Naik.
The winners were awarded medals and the Kamakshi Cup. Referees for the tournament included Mayrel, Dadapeer Patil, Tanvesh Gaude, and Aditya Kumar.
The event was compered by Prof Nisha Cherian. Principal Surekha Naik delivered the welcome address, while Prof Namdev Naik proposed the vote of thanks. The tournament was supported by the non-teaching staff of the school.
