MARGAO
Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, secured a narrow 1–0 victory over Betalbatim Sporting Club in an exhibition match played on the occasion of the feast of Our Lady of Remedios at the Panchayat Ground, Betalbatim, on Sunday.
The match was witnessed by a large Sunday crowd, and both teams displayed determination and skill, keeping the spectators thoroughly engaged throughout the encounter. Betalbatim came close to scoring when Mark Antao was neatly set up by Alrich da Cunha, but he failed to convert the chance.
The defensive trio of Cayvon Araujo, Joston Dias, and Brian Pinto stood strong, effectively denying Betalbatim several scoring opportunities with their solid combination at the back.
The all-important goal came from the boots of Franjoy Andrade of Don Bosco, Fatorda. He unleashed a powerful shot from inside the box that crashed into the net, leaving the Betalbatim goalkeeper and defenders with no chance.
