Madel FC prevailed over SFX Camarxett 7–6 via tie-breaker after the teams were locked 2–2 at full time in the inaugural match of the 7-a-side Inter-Ward Football Tournament organised by Friends Circle, Curtorim, at the Raitollem Ground, Curtorim, on Sunday.
In an exciting opening encounter, Anslem Fernandes and Caitan Fernandes scored a goal each for SFX Camarxett, while Floyd netted a brace for Madel FC to force the tie-breaker. Madel FC held their nerve in the shootout to secure a 7–6 victory.
Earlier, Niclous Paes, proprietor of the V-20 Futsal Ground, was the chief guest and formally declared the tournament open in the presence of Paulo Fernandes.
