Dragon FC Margao staged a thrilling comeback to defeat Rosary Boys Zoriwaddo 5-3 via a penalty shoot-out and book their place in the semifinals of the 18th Rebello Pandal Football Tournament, held at the St. Rita Church ground, Maina Curtorim, on Wednesday.
The match ended in a 2-2 draw in regulation time, with both teams displaying attacking intent and determination. Veron Fernandes and Prince Figueredo gave Rosary Boys the lead, but Dragon FC responded through Rayman Fernandes and Velito Miranda, who kept their side in the game.
In the decisive tiebreaker, Dragon FC held their nerve with Richard, Rayman Fernandes, and Velito Miranda converting their spot kicks. For Rosary Boys, only Munna managed to find the net, as Dragon FC emerged victorious.
Velito Miranda of Dragon FC Margao was named Man of the Match, with the award presented by Edwin Sequeira for his crucial contributions during both regulation time and the shoot-out.
