Parish Youth Nuvem booked their spot in the quarterfinals of the Benaulim Villagers Cup with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Sporting Club Davorlim at the St John the Baptist Panchayat ground.
Nuvem asserted early control, with midfield duo Jonas Colaco and Alvito Dias dictating the tempo and dominating possession. Their early pressure paid off in the 22nd minute when Albino fired a blistering shot into the top left corner, giving the Davorlim goalkeeper no chance.
Determined to put the game beyond reach, Nuvem pushed for a second goal in the second half, but Davorlim refused to back down. Ajay Raj nearly drew level in the 42nd minute with a powerful effort, but Nuvem goalkeeper Selfon Dias pulled off a brilliant save to preserve the lead.
Despite a spirited late surge from Davorlim, Nuvem’s resolute defense stood tall to protect their slender advantage and secure a well-deserved win in a tightly contested clash.
