The Goa Football Association (GFA) has officially announced a 20-member squad for the upcoming Junior Boys National Football Championship for the Dr. B.C. Roy Trophy Tier 1. One of India’s most prestigious inter-state youth football tournaments, the championship will kick off on July 20, in Punjab, with Goa placed in Group A alongside Telangana, Delhi, and hosts Punjab.
Led by experienced head coach Shane Temudo, the Goan side is gearing up to make a strong impression in this year’s edition. The team will begin their campaign against Telangana on July 20 at the Bibi Ratni Stadium, followed by matches against Delhi on July 22 at the GNDU Sports Complex, and Punjab on July 24, again at Bibi Ratni Stadium in Amritsar.
The squad, carefully selected after a series of intensive trials, showcases a blend of promising young talent from across the state. The coaching staff, including assistant coach Gopi Gad, has worked diligently to prepare a tactically sound and physically fit team. Team manager Laxman Hadfadkar will oversee the campaign’s logistics, while team physio Saiel Mange will ensure the players' fitness throughout the tournament.
Notably, midfielders Messi Colaco and Clizer Noronha bring additional strength to the squad, both having recently joined from the Reliance Foundation program, adding valuable experience and depth to the lineup.
