Siddharth Nunes progressed to the next round of the ongoing Baale BPS Open 2024, coasting through two round matches defeating his rivals Jasmeet Sawhney and Laxman Iyer.
Siddharth, a 27-year-old lawyer by profession, trounced Jasmeet 6-2, before defeating Iyer without losing a single game in the state ranking tournament.
In other matches in the men’s singles event, Sanjay beat Lyndon 6-1, Akhil L beat Pankaj 6-2, Allan beat Rajesh 6-2 and Anant beat Jai 6-3. Mano, Pratham and Prince defeated their rivals Kane, Aaron and Apoorv, respectively, 6-0, without breaking a sweat, while Sreenath and Sandesh had to take the tie-breaker route to overcome their opponents Pramod and Arnam respectively.
In a men’s 45+singles match, Ashwin beat Caetano 6-1, 2-6 (10-3), while in the men’s 45+ doubles event, Sameer Laxman beat Suresh/Sandeep 6-2, 6-2 and Mano/Ashwin beat Vikrant/Vishal 6-0, 6-0 to reach the finals in the veterans’ category.
