South Goa delivered a commanding performance to defeat North Goa in straight sets during the Women Masters volleyball exhibition match organised by St Barbara Sports Club at Santa Cruz on Sunday.

Under the leadership of national player Betty D’Silva, South Goa dominated the contest 21–11, 21–17 in a best-of-three format, displaying excellent coordination, experience, and attacking prowess. North Goa, captained by Natalina Cardozo, showed determination—particularly in the second set—but struggled to match South Goa’s consistency.

South Goa took early control of the match, cruising through the first set with sharp net play and effective serves to secure a comfortable 21–11 win.

North Goa responded with greater intensity in the second set, tightening their defense and improving their teamwork. They remained competitive for much of the set, but South Goa maintained composure during crucial moments, capitalizing on key points to close the set 21–17 and seal the match.

The South Goa team featured a strong mix of national and state-level players, including Milagrina Mascarenhas, Viliana Soares, Cynthia Baptist, Beulah Sebastian, Seemal Menezes, Lavina Rodrigues, Maria Fernandes, Piedade Fernandes, Santana Colaco, Lisette Camara, and Judy Braganza, whose combined efforts proved decisive.

North Goa’s lineup—featuring Samiksha Karmalkar Harji, Maria Cardozo, Rosy Noronha, Amita Korgaonkar, Colleen Sequeira, Samidha Dhavjekar, Darling McCann, and Benny Gonsalves—displayed resilience and determination despite the loss.
