MARGAO
Sporting Clube de Goa has taken a significant step toward strengthening grassroots football development in the state by signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with two prominent educational institutions — Saraswat Vidhyalaya High School, Mapusa, and Sacred Heart of Jesus High School, Anjuna.
The partnerships aim to provide structured training, exposure, and opportunities to young footballers in the region, especially those residing in areas beyond the city limits.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Sporting Clube de Goa CEO Welvin Menezes stated, “This initiative is part of our commitment to identifying and nurturing hidden talent from regions that are often overlooked. We believe there is immense potential outside the city, and we are actively working on partnering with more schools across Goa to build a strong pipeline of future footballers.”
The MoUs mark the beginning of a focused grassroots outreach by the club, with coaching programs, scouting camps, and talent development activities set to commence shortly at the partnered institutions.
Sporting Clube de Goa continues to play a pivotal role in the footballing ecosystem of Goa, and this initiative reaffirms its dedication to youth development and the future of the sport in the state.
