Uguem Rising Club dominated from start to finish, defeating Navelim Sporting Club 4-1 to reach the semifinals of the Vaidya Family Trophy inter-village football tournament, organized by Cuncolim Union at the GOCT School ground, Cuncolim, on Friday.
Uguem raced to a 3-0 lead by halftime. Rutik Bandodkar opened the scoring in the 6th minute off a Prathamesh Gaonkar assist and added a second in the 12th minute, set up by Ashwon Menezes. Prathamesh Gaonkar made it 3-0 just before the break.
In the second half, Noah Luis pulled one back for Navelim, but Prathamesh Gaonkar scored again in the 50th minute from a Rutik Bandodkar pass to make it 4-1 and seal the win.
Rutik Bandodkar was named Man of the Match. Uguem Rising Club will face Guardian Angel SC in the second semifinal on January 20.
