United Friends Colony Marlem clinched the title in the 2nd Lourdes Festive All Goa Floodlight Volleyball Tournament, organised by United Boys of Ambaulim, Quepem, at the Ambaulim Volleyball Ground.
In a thrilling final, United Friends Colony Marlem defeated D D Brothers Raia 3-2 with scores of 20-25, 25-19, 25-13, 18-25, 15-13. After losing the opening set, Marlem bounced back to take the next two sets, dropped the fourth, and edged out the fifth and deciding set to claim victory.
The final was attended by notable guests, including Shri Yuri Alemao, Leader of Opposition; Alton D’Costa, MLA of Quepem; Filomeno D’Costa, PI Traffic Cell Fatorda; and Fr. Carlisto Coelho, who later presented the prizes.
The champions received a trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, while the runners-up were awarded a trophy and Rs. 40,000.
