MARGAO: Sporting Clube de Goa have once again asserted their dominance in state football, emerging as the new symbol of supremacy by clinching the Goa Pro League title for the third time with a match still in hand under coach Savio Vaz.
Speaking to Goan Everyday after sealing the title, a visibly delighted coach Savio Vaz said he would cherish this triumph, especially considering the team’s parallel commitment to their I-League 2 campaign.
“This is a title I will never forget, especially with our boys also fighting in I-League 2,” Vaz said. “This time we have proved a point. Our success story, achieved against all odds, hardly attracted attention earlier. But this time, it is all about Sporting Clube de Goa.”
Vaz also expressed confidence in his abilities despite never having been called up by the Goa Football Association for a role with the state team.
“Given a chance, I can drastically improve the performance of the Goan team,” he added.
