Since time immemorial it has always remained a dream of every individual to own a house which he or she can call home. We have often noticed that a particular house or a flat brings prosperity or disaster to a family. Not knowing whom to blame for the setbacks, tragedies or calamities or loss, people simply live with it considering it as an act of God or may decide to change their dwelling place. A Vastulogically auspicious house or flat must be bought or rented to live in peace, prosperity and in fine fettle.

There should not be road junctions or dead-end roads near the house. The North, North-East and the East side of the house should not be with weight or elevated in comparison to other directions. There should not be a huge tree or dirty water drainage in the front. These are the outside factors that greatly affect the energies inside the house.
One of the most important elements is the shape of the house or flat. A square or rectangle house will bring more positivity and will prove to be a harbinger of prosperity to the family. Odd shaped houses come with many cuts that affect the energies inside the house. Depending on which direction, it can have disastrous and ill effects on the family members.
Other characteristics like the entrance door, kitchen, living room, and master bedroom are very significant. Wrong orientation of any of these will create Vastu defects which ultimately will bring negativities.
Avoid buying or renting a house whose entrance door is not in North, North-East, East, South of South-East and West of North-West. If the living room is not from North to East, it is inauspicious. The kitchen must be in South-East or if not available there it can be in North-West. The Master bedroom has to be in the South-West or as a second option in the South. There must not be a bathroom or toilet in the centre of the house or a cut area. Houses with the cut area, septic tank, toilet or duct area or a staircase in the North-East must be avoided.
