Bambolim: DCTs Srinivassa Sinai Dempo College (Autonomous), Cujira, organised a quiz competition on Consumer Rights in E-commerce on January 13.
The event was organised by the Consumer Welfare and Legal Aid Cell in association with the Department of Law and the Department of Commerce of Srinivassa Sinai Dempo College, in collaboration with the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Panaji.
The competition saw enthusiastic participation from 57 students forming 29 teams from the BCom, BBA and IMCom programmes. The quiz aimed to assess and improve students’ understanding of consumer rights and responsibilities in the fast-growing e-commerce sector.
It also sought to create awareness about consumer protection laws, grievance redressal mechanisms and regulatory bodies, helping students link classroom learning with real-life consumer issues.
The competition was coordinated by Associate Professor Derina Rodrigues, Head of the Commerce Department, Assistant Professor Sarita Parker, in-charge of the Consumer Welfare and Legal Aid Cell, and Assistant Professor Aleris Rodrigues, member of the cell. Assistant Professor Elvina Machado served as the faculty in-charge of the event.
