CAMPUS | St Mary’s Convent HS celebrates annual day in Mapusa

Mapusa: The annual day programme of St Mary’s Convent High School, Mapusa, was celebrated with enthusiasm on January 10, 2026, on the school grounds. The event showcased the talents, achievements and spirit of the students.   

The programme began with a prayer dance, followed by a welcome address by headmistress Snehala A.C. The event was compered by Fizel Fernandes. Director of Education Shailesh R. Sinai Zingde attended the function as chief guest and was escorted to the venue by NCC cadets. In his address, he appreciated the students’ disciplined and dedicated performances. Ramiro Luis, assistant professor in the department of psychology at St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, was the guest of honour.   

The theme of the programme, ‘From Slavery to Freedom’, was the highlight of the evening. Students presented a range of performances, including classical dances, a skit, songs and musical pieces by the school brass band. The performances reflected creativity, teamwork and confidence, drawing applause from the audience.   

A felicitation ceremony was also held to honour staff members who completed 25 years of service and those retiring in the current academic year. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Sonia Noronha, followed by the school song.
