Normally, iron ore mining starts in Goa by the end of monsoon. However, this year, there was a delay in issuing of consent to operate. Due to that, the mining industry was concerned because fresh excavation can't start without consent to operate.
Sources also revealed that these 8 mining leases, put together, have the capacity of 2.365 million tons per annum of iron ore.
