Pay rich tributes to Dr Juliao Menezes who had invited Dr Ram Manohar Lohia to Goa to give an impetus to the liberation movement, TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai on Sunday suggested that Lohia Chowk at Assolna should be part of the official function itinerary on Goa Revolution Day.

He went to the extent of assuring the freedom fighters that the government will not hesitate to correct the injustice, if any, meted out to Dr Menezes for his role in the
freedom movement.
A day after he got the Lohia Chowk spruced up through the office of the district Collector, Swapnil Naik, Sardesai touched upon the role of Dr Menezes, a resident of Assolna, in getting Dr Lohia to Goa before the Indian nationalist gave a clarion call to Goans to liberate the motherland from the Portuguese regime.
“The Lohia Chow has been a neglected lot. The district administration had to be roped in spruce up the area on the eve of the Goa Revolution Day. The government had in the past recognized Dr Juliao Menezes, but many people say he has not been given due recognition. If this is so, the government is ready to do the necessary correction”, Sardesai said, while suggesting that the house of Dr Menezes and the Lohia Chowk should be part of the official function itinerary on Goa
Revolution Day.
