The government in a notification on October 18 has included the area under survey nos 250 to 270 of Arpora-Nagoa panchayat under the jurisdiction of the NGPDA.
Consequently, the NGPDA as per Section 26 of the TCP Act has decided to prepare a Map and Register showing the present land use of the new areas added to it.
“A small portion in Nagoa-Baga, below the creek falls in the revenue village of Calangute although it comes under the jurisdiction of Arpora-Nagoa panchayat. The government has now decided to include the portion in NGPDA,” said R K Pandita, Member Secretary of NGPDA.
Setting the ball rolling, the NGPDA has requested all land holders who own areas in survey nos 250 to 270 and its sub-divisions to submit information of their land by filling the prescribed Form A.
The information provided by the land owners will be then recorded in the present Land Use Register.
“The details of the land as well as the buildings recorded in the Land Use Register give the owner recognition of the existence of his structure,” the Member Secretary said.
According to NGPDA member secretary, it’s an opportunity for the people of Nagoa-Baga to record their structures in the present Land Use Map and as well as get their building recorded in the Land Use Register.
“This will facilitate all the residents of the said planning area to get present status of their structure, as and where is basis,” Pandita said.
Earlier the government had brought Calangute and Candolim panchayats under the Planning Development Authority. NGPDA has already prepared and adopted present land use map and register for Calangute, Candolim planning area.
