Sai, Sayantani win painting competition on energy conservation

Ministry of Power, Government of India has taken up yearlong awareness campaign on Energy Conservation all over India. Under the Campaign, Painting Competition on Energy Conservation is being organized every year among school students at school level, State Level and National Level. The basic scheme of the competition was designed by Bureau of Energy Efficiency, which is the overall co-ordinaters of the project. The Painting competition is being done in two categories viz Category A (class IV to VI) and Category B (class VII to IX). This year the said event was held at Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Colvale, Goa.

At the outset, Nila Mohanan, IAS, secretary (education) was the chief guest. Chief general manager WR 1 Anantha Sharma was also present on the ocassion. Senior general manager R Amuthan presented this year report of the said event, where 35,296 students from 540 schools in the state had participated. Among the above 50 students from both categories were selected for State level competition among which the winners are as below:


Category- A

n First prize winner - Sai Jeetendra Bhagat  awarded Rs 20,000

n Second prize winner - Ambika Rupesh Thakur awarded Rs 15,000

n Third prize winner - Swajit Pralhad Dessai awarded Rs 10,000

Category- B 

n First prize winner - Sayantani Dutta awarded Rs 20,000  

n Second prize winner - Avish Ashok Naik awarded Rs 15,000

n Third prize winner - Eeshani Pai Kane  awarded Rs 10,000

Also 10 consolation prize winners were awarded Rs. 5000/- each in both categories.

The three winners of the competition shall represent Goa in the National Level Painting Competition being held at New Delhi on December 12.
