Having knocked the doors of all and sundry, including the Goa State Human Rights Commission, the beleaguered employees, who have not been paid their salaries of the last nine months, are keeping their fingers crossed over their future with a new dispensation taking charge of the State. They pointed out that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is aware of the problems faced by the commundiade employees and look forward to him to address their plight.
On the one hand, the previous government almost questioned the legality of the appointments of these employees; and on the other, the election authorities used their services in the just concluded Assembly election.
“We are helpless. The employees had to go without salaries since the last nine months. While we were not paid our dues, the services of all the employees were utilized by the election authorities,” remarked an employee.
Incidentally, the employees have been taken aback by their recent transfers, ordered by the district administration. “We are shocked and surprised that most of the employees have been transferred to places away from their present postings. How are we supposed to travel for work when the administration has not paid our salaries for the last nine months?” questioned an angry employee.
