VASCO:
"As far as the issue of trucks, there is no parking place. Earlier, trucks were parked near Baina beach but since the bridge work is going on, heavy vehicles proceeding to MPT for loading and unloading use the main roads for parking," PI Pereira told The Goan.
"Challaning the vehicle drivers is not the solution. We have already written to the MPT and MMC to identify a place that can be designated as a truck terminus. Some interstate vehicles come here, park and go to complete gate entry formalities and we have also asked MPT to allow vehicles in its campus to complete the gate entry formalities, so that they are not parked on main roads, especially near the oil tanking companies."
Pereira added that many vehicles parked near the oil tanking companies proceed to MPT for cargo transportation.
