Verna police have launched a search operation after a minor girl from Birla-Zuarinagar went missing on Saturday morning.
The girl reportedly left her residence along with a friend at around 8:30 am and did not return home thereafter.
According to the complaint lodged by the girl’s mother, who hails from Bihar and resides in Zuarinagar, she suspects that some unknown person may have kidnapped her minor daughter from her lawful guardianship. Acting on the complaint, Verna police registered a case under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act.
Police have initiated efforts to trace the missing girl and are verifying all possible leads, including the friend she had left home with. The investigation is being carried out by PSI Mahesh Bhomkar under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
Authorities have appealed to the public to share any information that may assist in locating the missing girl.
