PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday informed the Assembly that mining activities in Goa are set to gain momentum, with the government preparing to auction four more mineral blocks within the next 15 days.
Sawant said that of the 12 mineral blocks auctioned so far, three have already commenced operations, while four more are expected to start within the next two months. “The delay has been due to pending permissions from various agencies,” he said.
He assured that by October, mining operations in the state will resume smoothly and added that the government is committed to reviving the sector and recovering dues from defaulting mining firms.
