Almaty charter service begins with first flight at Mopa

Panaji: Goa received its first seasonal charter flight from Almaty, Kazakhstan, on Thursday with a Fly Arystan aircraft bringing 174 passengers to Manohar International Airport, Mopa, at 10.25 am. The Department of Tourism welcomed the visitors with rose buds and a brass band performance at the arrival area. Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said strengthening international air links is a key focus for the State and that new charter services help Goa reach new markets and attract quality tourists in a planned manner. Director of Tourism Kedar Naik said the Almaty charter is an important addition to this season’s international operations and will help maintain a steady flow of foreign tourists.
