
PANAJI: The ASSOCHAM Goa Council organised the Menstrual Health & Hygiene Summit 2026 in Panaji on May 29 on the theme, “Enabling Inclusive WASH Solutions: Bridging Gaps from Awareness to Action”. Bhakti R. Dempo, Chairperson of the Women Empowerment Committee, ASSOCHAM Goa Council, said the Supreme Court had declared menstrual health a fundamental right in January 2026 and introduced implementation guidelines. Cheshta Yadav, IAS, Secretary, Department of Tribal Welfare, Public Grievances and Panchayat, and Director General of GIPARD, said health and hygiene services must reach adolescents and women, particularly in rural areas, and called for collaboration among stakeholders.
The summit included sessions by Sneha Bhagat of Oorja Wellness Centre, Nisha Naik of Wisdom Superspecialist Hospital, Anju Rajput Desai, Sukriti Malpani of Molbio Diagnostics Pvt Ltd, Meenacshi Martins of WICCI Goa Mental Health & Psychosocial Wellness Council, Oindrilla Chatterjee of Women in Tech Goa and Adage Automations, Aishwarya Jain of Deltin Foundation, Kinjal Kothari of Goa Cancer Society, and Shirley Sousa of the Child Welfare Committee, South District. Discussions focused on menstrual health, hygiene awareness and the role of technology, healthcare and corporate participation.
