Chorao Island came alive on May 18 during the vibrant Fiesta de Graça celebrating the feast of Our Lady of Grace Church, Madel. Organised by parishioners and led by Parish Priest Fr Americo Rodrigues, the event aimed to unite all Chorao communities. Held at the Royal Grace open-air hall, the fiesta featured music, dance, comedy, games, Goan food, and pop-up stalls offering pottery, toys, and handicrafts. Selfie booths and surprise prizes added to the festive spirit. The event was curated by Raymond Pereira (Ray’s Atelier) and Xavier D’Mello with strong support from the parish.
Fr Americo and team inaugurated the celebration by releasing three wild doves. GIPA opened the evening with a Goan dance, followed by high-energy acts, games, and live Konkani music by Lenoy Gomendes & Group, featuring top singers. Comedians Humbert and Ambe and mimicry artist Amresh Kamat entertained the crowd. Schoolchildren, DJ Richard Lobo, and Bollywood musician Balthazar Fernandes kept the dance floor busy.
