PANAJI: Environmental organisation My Green Ambition, Goa has urged Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to launch an urgent statewide clean-up drive ahead of the monsoon under the banner “Mission Clean Monsoon Goa 2026”. In a letter, founder Cedric da Costa highlighted the growing problem of plastic, glass, medical and electronic waste littering roadsides, fields, beaches and open spaces across Goa. He warned that unchecked waste could be washed into rivers and the sea during the monsoon, posing serious risks to aquatic life, biodiversity and public health. The proposal calls for a 15-day mission-mode operation involving government agencies, local bodies and volunteers, with World Environment Day serving as a key deadline for action.
