Women and Children’s rights activist Auda Viegas has welcomed the decision to hand over the Curchorem sex case to the Crime branch for investigations. Briefing the media, Viegas said investigations by the Crime branch would instil confidence in the victims to come forward and lodge their complaints against the alleged accused. Saying that every women enjoys autonomy over her body, the activist said refusal by a victim for medical examination should not deter the investigating agency to collect other evidence to nail the accused.
