The Maina Curtorim police has arrested one person for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl on the pretext of getting married. The police arrested Yashwant Yallappa Harijan, a resident of Rumdamol, a native of Gokak, Belgaum-Karnataka following a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother. In her complaint, the mother alleged that the accused sexually abused her minor daughter on several occasion from August 10, 2025 to April 3, 2026 on the pretext of getting married. The accused has been arrested under section 64(2)(i)(m), 69 of BNS. and under Section 4, 6 of POCSO Act. Further investigation is on.
