SANGUEM
Forest department officials along with local villagers successfully rescued a bison which had fallen into a well in Vagon village in Sanvordem on Friday afternoon.
The bison had reportedly caused considerable damage to a private plantation and a section of a residential house before its accidental fall into the well.
Upon discovering the distressed bison, villagers promptly alerted the forest department and a forest team after strenuous efforts and with the assistance of the community managed to retrieve the animal from the well.
Officials have stated that the bison, which was found injured and blind in both eyes, will be transferred to the Bondla Zoo for care and rehabilitation.
