PANAJI: Marking World Environment Day on June 5, HDFC Bank launched an awareness campaign under its CSR arm, Parivartan, to promote responsible plastic use. The campaign encourages customers at select branches to deposit plastic e-waste for recycling and adopt eco-friendly alternatives. The Bank is also conducting awareness sessions, clean-up drives, and employee-led initiatives to reduce plastic use.

A special webpage allows citizens to take an online pledge to cut plastic consumption. Alongside, the Bank is expanding its waste management programmes across India, targeting solid waste systems in over 1,000 villages and material recovery facilities in 15 urban bodies by 2025. These efforts align with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and are already active in states like Himachal Pradesh, Assam, and Kerala. The campaign aims to educate and engage communities through workshops, art, and behaviour change activities.
