The car which was gutted due to short circuit in Socorro.

A car was gutted in a fire following a short circuit in Socorro on Thursday afternoon. According to reports, the incident took place at about 1.50 when the car, owned by Ben Fernandes of Parra, was heading from Porvorim towards towards Guirim. As the car reached Socorro, there was a short circuit and smoke was noticed in the engine. The driver and a passenger stopped the car and got out of the vehicle. A short while later, a fire broke out and the car was engulfed in flames. A fire brigade from the Porvorim fire station went to the spot and extinguished the fire. Porvorim police later conducted a panchanama of the incident.
