OLD GOA: St Andre MLA Viresh Borkar inaugurated the Ganesh Visarjan shed at Curca on Monday, in the presence of Batim Sarpanch Francisco D’Souza, panchas of Curca and Batim, among others.
The shed was built under the MLALAD funds and incurred a cost of Rs 39 lakh. Apart from the shed, a proper approach path with chequered tiles has also been built.
Borkar said that it was a long-pending demand of the locals of Curca and Batim to have a proper shed for Ganesh immersion, which has now become a reality.
“During this Ganesh Chaturthi, the locals will be able to have a proper immersion,” he added.
