Canacona Councillor Shubham Komarpant has accused a hotel of illegally erecting a fence and encroaching on municipal setback area in the municipality.
In a complaint to the Canacona deputy collector, Komarpant claimed that the hotel had illegally constructed a fence with barbed wires near a temple and had encroached on municipal setback area on road by creating a garden outside compound wall.
Komarpant called on authorities to act on behalf of the public in the area. He also marked the copies of his complaint to the Governor, Collector (South), Canacona Mamlatdar and CMC chief officer.
Later speaking to The Goan, Komarpant stated, “We stand with the locals, not business tycoons who harass even our local taxi operators and small businesses. These tycoons should not harass locals for their greed to make more money.”
