BICHOLIM: Samraat Club Mayem, in collaboration with the students of Sitar Dnyanmandir, organised a Guruvandana programme at Deendayal Hall, Bicholim, on August 10 at 3.45 pm. Students of Sitar Dnyanmandir performed on stage, captivating the audience with the magic of sitar playing. The programme was held in remembrance of eminent sitar player Guruvarya Pandit Yogiraj Khandekar.
The chief guest was Ramchandra Garde, chairman of Ideal High School, Piligao, and the guest of honour was retired headmaster Babuso Gaonkar. During the event, ‘Country First Week’ awardee and ex-serviceman Pramod Vishnu Pal, nominated by Samraat Club Mayem, was felicitated by the chief guest. Club members present included Arjun Naik, Dnyaneshwar (Sajjan) Borkar, Nilesh Gadekar, Harsha Kauthankar and Shilpa Pednekar.
Club president Adv Ajay Prabhugaonkar welcomed the audience, while secretary Dnyaneshwar Borkar proposed the vote of thanks. The event was compered by Harsha Kauthankar and coordinated by Jayesh Gaonkar and Naresh Pednekar.
