MARGAO: Infant Jesus High School, Colva boys and girls entered the semi-finals of the All Goa inter-school U-14 football tournament, organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim in memory of Late Sir Jawaharlal Da Costa, at the Panchayat ground, Seraulim, on Wednesday.
In the boys category, Infant Jesus High School,Colva defeated St Anthony's High School, Majorda 3-0. Rahul Shirapali scored a brace in the eighth and 19th minutes thus leading the score for Infant Jesus High School.
At half time the score read 2-0.
After changing ends, St Anthony's High School, Majorda tried to combat the task and missed a few chances. Infant Jesus HS appeared determined to march to the semis with Vikas Gudimani scoring the third goal in the 40th minute following a penalty.
In the girls category, Infant Jesus High School, Colva defeated St Anthony's High School, Majorda 2-0. The first goal was scored by Rovia Fernandes following a false pass by the rival goalkeeper. Valanka Fernandes consolidated the win by netting the second goal in the 26th minute.
The player of the match was awarded to Rahul Shirapali and Valanka Fernandes of Infant Jesus High School, Colva.
