CANACONA: The Electricity Department has announced a power shutdown on the twin 11 kV underground feeders of Palolem and Agonda on Thursday, June 18. The Palolem feeder will remain shut from 9 am to 2 pm, while the Agonda feeder will be shut from 2 pm to 5 pm to carry out underground cable jointing work.
During the first phase of the shutdown, power supply will be affected in and around Telephone Exchange, Cleopatra, Gaitondewada, Old Dhavalikar Hospital, Devabhag, Ice Factory, Sobit Sarovar Hotel, Daya Hotel, Palolem Club, Palolem Beach, Rickshaw Stand, Parking Area, Bhumipurush, Syndicate Bank, Ourem, Sawantwada, Colomb, Rajbagh-Tarir, Pentagon, Patnem Beach and Devkipurush Patnem. During the second phase, parts of the Canacona Municipal Council area at Devabhag and the entire Agonda Village Panchayat area will be without power supply. The shutdown has been scheduled to facilitate underground cable jointing work, according to a notice issued by the Assistant Engineer (O&M), Sub-Division III, Electricity Department, Canacona.
