Writer, poet, and lyricist John Aguiar released his latest Konkani poetry collection, Thembe (Drops). The book was officially unveiled by Dr Purnanand Chari, President of the Goa Konkani Akademi, at the Shenai Goembab Hall, Patto. The event was organized by Ugtem Molob and Deepanjali Prakashan, in association with the Goa Konkani Akademi, drawing a distinguished gathering of writers, critics, and cultural enthusiasts. In his keynote address, Dr Purnanand Chari commended the vibrant state of Konkani publishing but urged the community to move beyond just production. Special Guest Prakash Naik recalled a poignant anecdote from the 1980s, highlighting Aguiar’s compassionate roots as an NSS volunteer who helped rebuild homes following floods in Savoi-Verem.  Aguiar has dedicated his book to his wife Savita Aguiar.
