Philanthropist and cultural advocate Dinesh Shahra attended the Vivaan Handpan & World Music Festival in Goa, where he presented the Green Gold Harmony Award and took part in a tree plantation drive aimed at promoting environmental awareness. The festival was held at Bambolim Beach Resort and brought together artists from several countries. Shahra, founder of the Green Gold Movement, said the initiative sought to link artistic expression with ecological responsibility. “Music and nature are two expressions of the same divine energy,” he said. During the programme, musician Alok Lahiri was named the first recipient of the Green Gold Harmony Award, which recognises artists who promote balance between humanity and nature through music. Organisers said the event also served as a prelude to Green Gold Day celebrations on February 22, Shahra’s birthday, which focus on music, wellness and environmental initiatives, including community programmes and tree plantation drives.
